2. Whitelist Discord Installer Files in Antivirus Programs
If we want to get around an overzealous antivirus, we’ll need to whitelist the files it’s snooping on. From software to software, the process varies. As a result, we’ll be utilising the well-known and free Avast antivirus as an example.
Step 1: You may open Avast by right-clicking on its icon in the system tray and selecting “Open Avast user interface” from the option that appears.
Step 2: Once the Avast window has opened, select “Protection” from the list of options on the left side of the window. Right-click on “Virus Chest” and select “Select All.” Quarantined files can be found in this location.
Step 3: Identify any files that begin with “Discord” or a similar variant in most situations, and remove them. This is done by selecting “Restore and add an exception” from the contextual menu when hovering over the files.
2. Discord Installation
If you haven’t yet installed Discord, you’ll need to add the folder containing the Discord setup programme as an exception in Avast in order to avoid any potential complications. By doing this, the installation process can continue without interruption, and no files will be sent to quarantine by Avast Virus Chest as a result.
Step 1: The first step is to open Avast. The “Menu” icon is located at the top right of the Avast window and may be accessed by clicking on it. Click on the drop-down menu that says “Settings.”
