Starting with this weekend’s Prefontaine Classic, the world’s premier yearly track and field competition, Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon will be the season’s home venue for track and field.
On Saturday, NBC Sports will broadcast the Diamond League action live. The coverage can be seen on CNBC from 4:00–4:30 p.m. ET, on NBC from 4:30–6:00 p.m., and online at NBCSports.com/live, the NBC Sports app, and Peacock.
There will be 15 individual Olympic champions competing this year, all hoping to qualify for the USATF Outdoor Championships in June and the first ever global championships in July, all of which will be hosted in Hayward.
The United States Track and Field (USATF) Championships, in which qualifying slots for the global championships in the men’s and women’s 10,000-meter events are at risk, begin on Friday and may be viewed live on USATF.TV. World records will then be attempted in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters for women and men, respectively.
How to Watch Birmingham Diamond League Live
From 10:30 PM ET on Friday, USATF TV will broadcast the beginning of the US 10000m championships as well as the 5000m and two-mile races (GMT -4).
From 4:00 PM Eastern Time on Saturday, the 2022 Diamond League meeting in Eugene (Prefontaine Classic) will be broadcast live in a number of countries across the world, and streamed live on the Diamond League league’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.

The finals of 16 different events, including the men’s 100 and 400 meters, men’s 400 hurdles, women’s 100, 200, and 800 meters, and men’s shot put and Bowerman Mile, will take place at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, for the third Diamond League event of 2022.
Fred Kerley of the United States and Andre De Grasse of Canada, both of whom are expected to medal in the men’s 100-meter dash at the 2020 Olympics, will compete against one another in the day’s primary and final event.
There will be a total of nine competitors in tonight’s race, and among them is American Noah Lyles, who won bronze in the 200 meters in the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Trayvon Bromell, who owns a season-best time of 9.92 seconds, is also competing.
Kirani James of Grenada, who won bronze in the Olympics, advanced to the finals of the men’s 400 and will compete against Matthew Hudson-Smith of Great Britain, who won the 400 at the British Grand Prix last week.
Sha’Carri Richardson vs Elaine Thompson-Herah: Recent 100m Races
Since the last Prefontaine Classic in August 2021, when Richardson ran 11.14 in the 100 meters, she has scarcely raced at all. In the three events since then, she has not broken the 11.14 mark. Earlier this year, she ran the 100-meter dash in 11.19 seconds, and just this last weekend in Florida, she ran it in 11.37 and 11.27 seconds.
Even if she hasn’t fully returned to her former glory since being suspended by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency for a failed marijuana test during the American Olympic trials last year, the U.S. sprinter is still one of the biggest names in the sport.

Eugene Diamond League Schedule and Start Times for Prefontaine Classic 2022
The Prefontaine Classic returns to Eugene this year to serve as a precursor to the summer’s World Championships, which will be held on the West Coast. Birmingham hosted the second round of the 2022 Diamond League last week, and this weekend’s meet will also serve as a Diamond League event.
Throughout the course of the two days, 13 Olympic winners will compete in their respective events at Hayward Field. Elaine Thompson-Herah, the Olympic 100- and 200-meter champion from Jamaica, and Dina Asher-Smith are the two main draws in the women’s 100-meter event, which promises to be a fireworks extravaganza.
Despite Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs being forced to withdraw due to injury, the men’s 100-meter dash is still stacked with stars like Christian Coleman, Trayvon Bromell, Noah Lyles, and Fred Kerley of the United States and Andre De Grasse of Canada.
