On Tuesday, May 31, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic will square off in a quarterfinal showdown at the French Open, with the winner progressing to the semifinals in Paris.
Nadal is well-known as “The King of Clay”; he is currently seeking his 14th French Open championship and first since 2020, when he defeated the Serbian player in the final in straight sets.
However, Nadal will face considerable challenge from Djokovic. He just won the Italian Open after facing and beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final. Similarly, he has breezed through the competition to reach the second week at Roland-Garros without dropping a single set.
This will be the 59th time in history that two of tennis’ greatest players have faced each other.
